Jon Kitna, who retired from the NFL after 15 seasons as a quarterback in 2012, signed on for one last game with the Dallas Cowboys. This past week players for our two girls’ teams gathered around the Word and engaged in technical drills to prepare them for their upcoming indoor season starting in January. Practices were held indoors in a gym provided by University Presbyterian Church in University Place. The surface is fast and forces players to be thoughtful about their speed and touch on the ball. I remember practicing on a similar surface in the winter in Tacoma in high-school. I have been encouraged this past week. The girls are focused and learning. I look forward to next week as we practice on the surface our games will be held on at the Tacoma Soccer Center.
