$8,800 Raised by "Pitching in Relief" Haiti Baseball Marathon

Thanks to all of the Reality Sports baseball players who competed in a baseball marathon Saturday, Feb. 20th to raise money for relief in Haiti.

Six RS baseball teams raised more than $8,800 to send to Haiti.  Well done, fellas!

Here are some fast facts about Haiti:

  • An estimated 200,000 people died in the January 12th earthquake
  • Another 194,000 were injured
  • There are about 2,000-4,000 amputees resulting from the quake
  • 1.5 million people have been displaced from their homes
  • Most of the infrastructure in the capital city of Port-au-Prince has been destroyed
  • Haiti was already the poorest nation in the Western Hemisphere, with most of the population living on less than $2 per day

A huge thanks to the RS baseball players for doing your part to help out.
