PROGRAM DIRECTORS

Most appropriately considered missionaries to the mission field of a particular sport, our Program Directors are dedicated to training coaches and athletes and athletes physically and spiritually, proclaiming the gospel and making disciples. Considered experts in their respective sports, each director is responsible for building their programs (including a self-sustaining donor base), fielding Teams and conducting Open Training, and for integrating the 4Foundations of Reality Sports into their training curriculum, while diligently pursuing the vision of Reality Sports - To turn the world upside down through sport, while on mission to preach the gospel and to make disciples of coaches and athletes.

Would you like to be a part of what God is doing in and through the ministry of Reality Sports? 

GENERAL VOLUNTEER

General volunteers are needed in various areas to help administer or facilitate training or fundraising events as well as to utilize their time and talent to support the ministry in specific areas. We would love to know how you are gifted and how you would like to serve with Reality Sports.

Some immediate needs include:

  • Volunteer for a few hours per week helping register and/or check-in participants to new training events.

  • Help take pictures at training events.

  • Volunteer 2 hours every other week to help clean our training facility.

  • Help coordinate and facilitate fundraising events

In order to volunteer with Reality Sports in this capacity, a General Volunteer application is required.

VOLUNTEER COACH

We are always looking to expand our coaching pool in every program. Volunteer Coaches are defined by their desired involvement as either short-term coaches or long-term coaches. A short-term coach is one who plans to participate in a single training event, such as a camp or clinic. A long-term coach is one who desires to remain engaged with a particular program for a longer period of time, such as coaching a team, or multiple camps or clinics in one or more calendar years. A long-term coach may also desire to initiate a new training segment in a particular program.

Unfortunately, it is very difficult for us to offer short-term coaching opportunities in sports that do not currently have full or part-time Program Directors. See below if you are interested in becoming a Program Director.

The process for becoming a Reality Sports volunteer coach is as follows:

  • Complete a short-term or long-term coaching application.

  • Complete a thorough background check.

  • Complete our online Child Abuse Prevention System training.

  • Complete the Reality Sports Equip 101 introduction to Reality Sports online training module.

PROGRAM DIRECTOR 

(Sports Missionary)

By far the greatest need we have in expanding the ministry of Reality Sports to "turn the world upside down" is that of new Program Directors. Program Directors, who are appropriately considered missionaries to their unique sport context, are the lifeblood for providing opportunity for a particular sport culture to meet and become disciples of Jesus Christ.

There are still a number of important, untapped, mainstream sports that need full-time Program Directors. And there is virtually unlimited opportunity for expansion of all sports in our community and beyond, even "to the ends of the earth", where sport is an international language and many people do not know Jesus.

If you feel like you may be called to full-time sports missionary work, or you are at all interested in what that may look like for you and your family, we would love to talk to you. We are very far along in the process of developing a missionary training institute and have a phenomenal training ground for cultivating your call. SUMMER INTERN

Want to get a taste of Reality Sports while serving during your summer break? We'll give you the full-missionary-meal-deal! A summer internship is a great way to explore your passion for ministry, grow in your faith, and use your gifts for the Kingdom!

During a summer internship with Reality Sports, you will:

  • Learn the heartbeat of Reality Sports through our 4Foundations.

  • Participate in a rigorous discipleship program.

  • Participate in multiple sports summer camps in various capacities.

  • Connect with and participate in community with a local church.

BOARD/COMMITTEE MEMBER

Do you believe in the vision and mission of Reality Sports but aren't called to be a full-time missionary, or aren't in a position to coach? Do you have sports or business experience, or just love the idea of making disciples in the context of sports? Then perhaps serving in the capacity of a Board Member is a natural fit for you!

We are always looking for passionate, savvy, Kingdom-minded leaders to oversee and influence the ministry of Reality Sports. Our vision to "turn the world upside down through sport" is an ambitious one, so we need ambitious people to serve in the important capacity of Board Member. 

​

Perhaps you are skilled in a particular area, like finance, strategic planning, event planning, fundraising or grant writing? We would love to invite you to serve for a few hours per month on one of our Board Committees.
